During peak
periods, Medieval Education can also call on a number of occasional
presenters to fill-in. While these presenters don't work as
often as our regular staff, they have all received basic training,
and are experienced in leading groups.
Steve is a drama teacher who is
busy developing his own drama activity programs for schools and
weekend workshops. He is sometimes (but not nearly enough)
available as an emergency for us.
Fortunately Steve has an
extensive background in medieval studies and metal weapons groups
in England, including work as a fight choreographer for groups like
The Royal Shakespeare Company!
Students who get to work with
Steve are extremely complimentary.

Allan is a Masters student
majoring in history, with an interest in re-enactment groups.
Although he had a limited training in teaching compared to the
majority of our presenters, he is very interested in becoming an
academic teacher, and loves to improve classroom skills. His
technical knowledge, and control in the classroom, makes him very
acceptable to schools when we need someone to step in to cover
illness.
He has now done so much for us,
that he probably has more classroom experience than most of our new
graduate teachers in their first years out. He has received very
good feedback from many schools.

Tara is another postgrad with an
interest in developing teaching skills, and has the amusing
distinction of being one of the last few people in the world to
carry the surname of very famous Medieval
royalty.
Tara has filled in increasingly
regularly for us over the last year, particularly in the more
active sessions like archery adn games. According to school
feedback, her infectious enthusiasm really motivates the students
to compete and have fun.
